Depending on the task, you'll reach for a different optic: a reflex sight for fast target acquisition at close range, a riflescope for the precise shot at distance, and a rugged pair of binoculars for observation and situational awareness.
- Reflex sights (NV): compact, both-eyes-open aiming and lightning-fast target acquisition – ideal as a back-up and handgun sight.
- Riflescopes (NZ8): variable magnification, a fine reticle and a wide adjustment range for precision at distance.
- Binoculars (NF): bright observation, a rugged housing and options such as a reticle or bearing compass.
Open or closed reflex sight for duty use?
Open reflex sights (OS) are especially light and offer a free, wide field of view for fast target acquisition. Closed tube sights (CS) additionally protect the optics and electronics from dirt, moisture and hard impacts and are suited to continuous use in adverse conditions. Many NOBLEX Defense sights are precisely matched to the common Optical-Ready interfaces from Glock and Heckler & Koch and allow near-full Co-Witnessing with the mechanical backup sights.
What matters most for ruggedness and reliability?
In the field, the optic has to take everything. Look for shock and recoil resistance, reliable sealing against water and dust, a wide operating-temperature range and long battery life.
